Death Valley Meets Minecraft

Take a trip through a scale version of the Minecraft version of Death Valley!

This is a “to scale” (1 block = 1 yard) Minecraft build of the iconic Clemson Memorial Stadium, aka “Death Valley,” on the campus of Clemson University, home of the Clemson Tigers.

A big thanks to Jaxon MacGeorge for this beautiful video, and you can see the full video tour here: https:youtu.be/9MYtHor-bqo

Quote from Jaxon on the how and why behind this project:  “I have never been to Death Valley, or Clemson, but being a Tennessee Law student, and a resident of Northeast TN, I know the passion of the Clemson fan base  These videos take a lot of hours to plan and build, so I like to build for fanbases that will appreciate the work, as well as show it to their children! I have had so many moms and dads tweet at me and leave comments from all of my videos to say they “can’t wait to show their kids!” I love that; I feel as if I provide a small moment of connection between generations.

I knew Clemson’s fan base would enjoy and respond to the build positively. As for “how” I do it, it involves heavy use of Google Maps, Earth, and every picture of the stadium I can view over the 2 month period to try to get all the technical details correct. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I can’t get it “just right” because I’m working with squares. Things like elevation are the most difficult. But, a careful study of the stadium helps me replicate as if I have been there many times.”
