“The Path of China: Sharing Ways to Learn About China, Their Development, and Our Role” presented by Katie Holba, Economics Graduate Student, Center for China Studies and Luke Bradshaw, Language and International Health via Tsinghua University

This program showcases the changes that are occurring within China through personal experiences, photography, and videos of Clemson students. According to Katherine Holba, former intern at one of China’s top universities, Tsinghua University, “To me, China is no longer a foreign, distant country, but a place where I was able to build personal relationships with native Chinese students and learn about their culture through their experiences. Both my understanding of China and my students’ understanding of America were transformed and personalized.” The focus of the Center of China Studies lies within three areas of education, research, and outreach programs in order to promote a better understanding of China’s economic development and its impact on the world. We will discuss the various opportunities for Clemson students to learn and engage more with Chinese society, culture, economy, and politics, both here in the U.S. and in China.
