Tropical Paradise

Take a glimpse inside the gates of Clemson University’s Archbold Tropical Research and Education Center (ATREC) in Springfield, Dominica in the West Indies. It’s a 198-acre (79 ha) tract of rainforest and agricultural land that was gifted to the university in 1989 by the late conservationist and philanthropist John D. Archbold. It was his vision that international students and researchers work with Dominican citizens to address pressing land use concerns.
